A bit about me …..

‘Who am I’ is a big question and one I hear asked a lot in my work. As I walk on my path I feel it becomes clearer and then another layer can surface which sends me to question it again! Maybe its not words but feeling, acceptance and self love. I guess it can be a very complex question, or it can be very simple. There is a lovely Rumi quote which says ‘As you start to walk on the way, the way appears’. I often remind myself of this.

To keep it simple, I am a counsellor, sound therapist and Reiki practitioner based near Exeter in Devon. My counselling work has an integrative approach and often combines different aspects of healing modalities. I am attuned to all levels of Reiki - 1, 2 and master/teacher. I am also a sound healing practitioner and have recently completed 2 years of Shamanic training. I find that all of these areas compliment each other beautifully, or can also be independent of each other.

Connecting to sound is like reconnecting to something deep within me, like an unlocking of knowledge that has been there for many lifetimes. It has helped me so much within my own healing journey, and I am so grateful to be able to use this to help others in theirs. A client recently said to me that following a sound treatment, she woke for the first time in ages without any pain.

Over the last few years I have been deep in a process of my own therapy while chipping away here and there with my professional development, or connecting with what I am truly here to do. From a young age when my school friends asked me what I wanted to be when I was older, I would say “I want to help people”…. And although I feel I have always tried to do that in some ways, it now feels good to say that is what I am doing. If I can use my pain and healing to help others then it makes it more worthwhile.
